Jessica Falchi explores progressive influences on new single “Sunflare”

Brazilian guitarist Jessica Falchi has released “Sunflare”, the second single from an upcoming four-track EP scheduled for January 2026. The track marks a stylistic shift from her previous release, highlighting a stronger progressive rock influence and placing emphasis on melodic guitar work and atmosphere.

Performed by Falchi, the instrumental project led by the guitarist, “Sunflare” is characterised by clean guitar tones, layered reverbs and delays, and a more contemplative structure. According to Falchi, the song reflects her affinity with progressive music and her long-standing admiration for David Gilmour and Pink Floyd, influences that inform the expressive phrasing of the guitar solos.

Unlike “Moonlance”, the project’s first single, which leaned towards modern metal with a pronounced groove, “Sunflare” adopts a more spacious and reflective approach. Falchi describes the composition as immersive, evoking hopeful imagery and moments of calm, such as watching a sunset or expansive natural landscapes.

The single is accompanied by a music video, directed, filmed, and edited by Hideki Onuki, and released through Falchi’s official YouTube channel, which currently exceeds 104,000 subscribers. The visual presentation reinforces the track’s luminous atmosphere, aligning with its title and sonic direction.

Production duties, as with all releases under the Falchi banner, were handled by Jean Patton (formerly of Project46), marking his first experience in a producer role. Visual artwork for the project is signed by Lauren Zatsvar, with imagery conceptualised around animals chosen to reflect the sonic identity of each track.

Falchi is an instrumental trio formed by Jéssica Falchi on guitar, João Pedro Castro on bass, and Luigi Paraventi on drums. The rhythm section contributes both technical precision and dynamic range, incorporating subtle Brazilian rhythmic elements that complement the project’s rock and metal foundation.

Two additional singles are scheduled for release in the coming months, each intended to explore different stylistic facets of Falchi’s playing while maintaining a core rock and metal identity. The full EP, comprising four tracks, is set for release on 23 January 2026, coinciding with Falchi’s presence at the NAMM Show in Los Angeles.
