Portugal’s most iconic metal band, MOONSPELL, have unveiled the complete line-up for Halloween United 2025, set to take place on October 31 at LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo. The event will celebrate three decades of their groundbreaking debut album Wolfheart and feature an exclusive live performance of the record in its entirety.
The 2025 edition of Halloween United brings together two long-standing allies of the European metal scene: MOONSPELL and Dark Tranquillity, the Swedish pioneers of melodic death metal. The night promises a rare convergence of friendship, history, and intensity — a hallmark of MOONSPELL’s enduring connection with their audience.
Adding to the line-up are Sinistro, the acclaimed Portuguese collective known for their brooding, cinematic soundscapes and releases through Alma Mater Records, the imprint founded by MOONSPELL frontman Fernando Ribeiro.
Beyond the main performances, Halloween United will feature a fire and aerial show by performer Tatsh, followed by a late-night DJ set by Weirdboy, one of Lisbon’s cult nightlife figures. The night will culminate in a DJ set battle between Fernando Ribeiro and Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity — a friendly duel of musical references and gothic flair set to turn LAV into a temple of nocturnal celebration.
This year’s event also coincides with the release of the long-awaited live album and film Opus Diabolicum – Live at the MEO Arena, a collaboration with the Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa, recorded in 2024. The release immortalises the band’s acclaimed symphonic performance, uniting the emotional weight of Portuguese metal with orchestral majesty.
For those who missed that historic night, Opus Diabolicum offers a chance to relive it — with the video for “Vampiria” already available as a preview of the grandeur achieved on stage.
Three decades after Wolfheart defined the essence of dark Portuguese metal, MOONSPELL continue to expand their artistic language while maintaining their unmistakable gothic identity. With Halloween United 2025, the band invite their devoted following to join in a ritual that blends nostalgia, communion, and unrelenting fire.
