Report: Dementia 13 + Destroyers Of All

It was a long awaited event in a city that recently became to go back to its former glory as  an important point for the Portuguese underground scene.

The first band of the night was playing home. The newcomers Destroyers of All, who recently had the honour of being the band of the day in Terrorizer Magazine, gave yet another powerful concert. Although they have only been playing live for a few months, they’re a solid band with some very experienced musicians.  The set-list had all the songs from their first and only EP (so far) and some covers like “Electric Funeral” by Black Sabbath, “Beber até Morrer” by Ratos de Porão, “The Philosopher” by Death and “Cowboys From Hell” by Pantera. They also had special guests during the show on stage with them, for the song “M4” and on their cover of “The Philosopher”.

Dementia 13 is a recent project formed with musicians from other well-known bands in the Portuguese metal scene, like Holocausto Canibal, Pitch Black and Raw Decimating Brutality. After the release of their EP in the beginning of the year, this project was very acclaimed.  They presented to the audience their original tracks and some covers, like “Nuclear Blast” by Gangrena, “The Enemy Inside” by Six Feet Under and “Zombie Ritual” by Death. Although it was a good performance by the band, I believe they were a little beyond one might expect.
