D-A-D & The 69 Eyes in Portugal: a preview

January 2026 will mark a significant moment for rock audiences in Portugal, as D-A-D and The 69 Eyes share the stage in the country for the first time. The two Scandinavian bands will perform in a co-headlining format as part of the Cowpunks And Glampires Tour, with concerts scheduled for 16 January at Hard Club in Porto and 17 January at LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo in Lisbon.

Doors will open at 7:00 pm on both dates, with performances set to begin at 8:00 pm. Tickets are priced at €35 and are already available through an exclusive pre-sale, with wider availability through the usual ticketing outlets to follow, including Fnac, Worten and Meo Blueticket.

The tour brings together two veteran acts whose careers span several decades and whose influence continues to resonate across the European rock landscape. While their musical identities differ, both bands share a reputation for consistency, longevity and a strong connection with their audiences, making this joint tour a notable event within the 2026 concert calendar.

For D-A-D, the Portuguese dates extend the celebration of more than forty years of activity. Originating in Copenhagen, the band have long been regarded as a cornerstone of Scandinavian hard rock, known for their combination of heavy riffs, punk-inflected energy and anthemic songwriting. Their most recent studio album, Speed of Darkness, released via AFM Records, was met with widespread critical acclaim and followed by an extensive European tour, highlighted by a sold-out performance at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena, soon to be released on vinyl and CD.

Sharing the stage are Finland’s The 69 Eyes, whose distinctive blend of gothic atmosphere and rock’n’roll glamour has earned them a devoted international following. Fronted by Jyrki 69, the band recently released Death of Darkness, an album that revisits their signature themes of nocturnal romance, desire and the supernatural, framed within a polished yet darkly theatrical sound.

Both bands have publicly expressed their enthusiasm for this collaboration, long discussed and now realised. The Portuguese dates promise two nights shaped by contrast and complementarity, where hard rock grit meets gothic elegance, offering audiences a rare opportunity to witness two defining forces of Northern European rock united on the same stage.
