ROTTING CHRIST, who were originally set to perform at the festival taking place from August 23rd to 25th in Pindelo dos Milagres, São Pedro do Sul, have rescheduled their appearance to the 2025 edition. In a brief statement, the festival’s organizers communicated the change:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Rotting Christ has been rescheduled for 2025. This is not a farewell, but rather a ‘see you soon’ at MMOA 2025.”
While the headliner status remains unaffected, the festival is offering those who purchased daily tickets the option to return them by August 5th at the point of purchase, in response to this postponement.
However, the news is not entirely disappointing, as the organizers confirmed that Swedish black metal giants MARDUK will take ROTTING CHRIST’s place in the lineup on August 24th.
To mitigate the disappointment caused by this change, the festival organizers have decided to offer 3-day PASSES for MMOA 2025 at a discounted rate. Until August 22nd, by entering the barcode from your 3-day pass for MMOA 2024, you can receive an immediate €10 discount on the purchase. From August 23rd, the discount will be reduced to €5 and will remain valid until the day of the event.
This year’s lineup will be highlighted by performances from SODOM, KAMELOT, and AMORPHIS, alongside bands such as KORPIKLAANI, METALIUM, AXXIS, FREEDOM CALL, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, THE TROOPS OF DOOM, and SERRABULHO, among many others. “You can always expect our usual commitment to delivering a high-quality rock/metal event, full of great energy over three days of intense celebration,” stated a communication on the festival’s social media. More information and tickets are available on the official event website.
Headlined by prominent acts like CRADLE OF FILTH, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MOONSPELL, and THERION, the 2023 edition of MILAGRE METALEIRO OPEN AIR established itself as a rapidly expanding underground festival. The surge in ticket demand led the organizers to secure a new venue, with the festival being held for the first time at the Pindelo dos Milagres Industrial Park.
