The Finnish band WÖMIT ANGEL, practically unknown to the world, plays a consistent thrash metal with a good mixture of black and death metal. Their third album, “Impaling Force of Satan”, was released via Ketzer Records on March 18th.
The album shows us a band that nails their songs in a very strong and powerful way with a low-fi and raw production. Fact we can hear in songs like “Planetary Destruction”, “Forgotten Name of Evil”, “Armageddon Wolfpack”, “Ceremonial Coffin-Ceremonial Death”, “Nun Raping Rock n’ Roll”, “Goat Hellfire”, and “Possessed Misery”. The listener can find in this album fast and sick, neck breaking, songs about Satanism, sexuality and sodomy. Those could remind something like Deströyer 666 being fused with Motörhead. In this hellish ride, there is also space for a slow doom song called “Raping the Holy, Pt. 2”. The album ends with a crushing song called “I Kill Everything I Fuck”.
This disturbing discharge of extreme music, might be, the best black thrash metal album that the listener will hear this year. With a really high quality for the by default putrid genre but also relieving for hardcore headbangers. Some black metal fans might also appreciate this release, as an interesting proposal with shredding riffs, intense pace, and blasphemic voices. The lyrics and album artwork are pretty sick.
In sum, it’s a band that should get more recognition, and hopefully this piece of “in your face” blasphemy reaches out to as many fans as possible, also from other extreme music genres.
