Under the Doom Festival announced Draconian, Evoken, Schammasch & more…

Lisbon reasserts its place on the map of atmospheric heavy music as Notredame Productions brings yet another edition of the Under the Doom Festival, which prepares for its 10th edition on September 25–26, 2026, at LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo. Known for its focus on the densest, darkest avenues of doom, funeral, and gothic metal, this milestone edition is taking shape with the first wave of confirmed artists, featuring both international icons and standout acts from the Portuguese underground.

Draconian Headline with New Material

Leading the second night of the festival are Swedish gothic doom pioneers Draconian. The band’s 2026 studio album In Somnolent Ruin — anticipated for release on May 8, 2026 — marks a significant moment in their career and features the confirmed return of longtime vocalist Lisa Johansson. Expect a performance that bridges new material with the haunting melodic depth that has defined their sound.

Evoken’s Portuguese Debut

One of the most anticipated moments of this edition is the first Portuguese appearance by American funeral doom legends Evoken. Long hailed as one of the foundational names in U.S. doom, the band is currently promoting their upcoming album Mendacium, set for October 17, 2025. Their immense, crushing compositions are built on decades of consistency and deep, somber atmospheres.

Schammasch Celebrate Triangle

Swiss avant‑garde metal innovators Schammasch return with a special focus on their expansive triple album Triangle (released April 29, 2016), a 100‑minute work spanning three distinct movements of atmospheric and experimental metal. Triangle has become a touchstone release for the band’s immersive and boundary‑pushing approach.

Additional Highlights

The first announcement also includes appearances by gothic music figure Liv Kristine, returning with a new band and album; Belgian doom veterans Marche Funebre, returning to Lisbon with a new LP; and Portuguese acts Atone and ANZV, each offering unique material and presence in the festival’s atmosphere‑rich setting.

Concerts will begin at 19:00 on Friday, September 25, and 18:00 on Saturday, September 26, preserving the festival’s evening showcase tradition at LAV – Lisboa Ao Vivo.

Tickets

Early bird two‑day passes (20% off) are available at €80 via Unkind.pt (here) between March 4 and April 2, 2026, with daily passes also offered at regular prices. A second wave of festival confirmations will follow on April 2nd.
