Lisbon’s underground calendar picks up serious weight this June as LX Extreme returns with an expanded format. Now operating under the banner “Death Fest,” the event stretches across two nights—June 12 and 13—at RCA Club, bringing together a cross-section of international and Portuguese death metal.

The opening night is headlined by Krisiun, a band whose longevity and consistency have made them a permanent fixture in the genre’s global circuit. Formed in southern Brazil in the early ’90s, the trio has built its reputation on speed, precision, and an unwavering commitment to extremity—qualities that continue to define both their recordings and their live performances. Supporting them are Undersave, Tvmvlo and Skinning, representing different strands of the national extreme scene.

Day two shifts focus to a newer generation, with Crypta closing the festival. Emerging from São Paulo in 2019, the quartet quickly established itself beyond South America with a sound rooted in classic death metal but delivered with a contemporary edge. Their releases Echoes of the Soul and Shades of Sorrow have positioned them among the most visible acts in the current wave of the genre. The lineup is rounded out by Destroyers of All, Crucivore and Last Piss Before Death.

Still early in its lifespan, LX Extreme is clearly aiming beyond the scale of a typical second-edition event. With two international headliners and a solid domestic undercard, Death Fest positions itself as a focused snapshot of contemporary death metal across both sides of the Atlantic.

Tickets are priced at €25 per day, with a limited number of two-day passes available for €45 via Unkind.pt and MEOBlueticket.

Organised by Notredame Productions.
