Cytotoxin, the German technical death metal band, has released the title track “Biographyte” from their upcoming fifth studio album, set to drop on April 11th via Blood Blast Distribution. The new single follows their previously released standalone tracks “Hope Terminator” and “Condemnesia“.
“Biographyte” delves into the harrowing experiences of firefighters who collected graphite bricks on the night of the Chernobyl disaster, suffering irreversible damage to their bodies. The song, written in a Phrygian dominant scale, showcases Cytotoxin’s slamming and groovier side while maintaining their signature intensity.
The album’s artwork, created by German Latorres of Hostile Tattoos, depicts a liquidator carrying the weight of the reactor on his back, symbolizing the human cost of the disaster. Each track on the album is dedicated to a key location in Pripyat, weaving a biographical narrative around the lives impacted by the Chernobyl incident.
Recorded at Kohlekeller Studios and mixed by Mendel bij de Leij at Mendel Audio, “Biographyte” promises to deliver Cytotoxin’s trademark blend of technical prowess and thought-provoking themes.
In support of the new album, Cytotoxin will embark on a European and UK tour starting April 10th in Berlin and concluding May 24th in Manchester. The tour will feature support from brutal acts such as Gutalax, Acranius, Necrotted, and Osiah on select dates.
Fans can pre-order “Biographyte” and find more information about the band and tour dates on Cytotoxin’s official social media channels and website.
