Dee Snider doesn’t need any introduction since he confounds himself with what hard rock and metal is and stands for, and if we’re listening whatever we listen these days that makes us feel rebellious and different from others, many of that we have to thank him for it, and to Twisted Sister.
They’re gone, the legacy will live, but Dee Snider doesn’t want to go away that easily, and luckily for us, he has embraced a solo career and presents to the world his 3rd album, “We Are The Ones”. Opening with two great tracks “We Are The Ones”, and “Over Again”, Dee shows the listener that he’s still got it, when it comes to voice, performance, and we can see that he’s enjoying himself in this record, also in songs like, “Close To You”, “Rule The World”, and “Crazy For Nothing”.
There is also room for some nice experiences and different approaches, as the listener will hear in “Head Like a Hole(Nine Inch Nails cover)”, “Superhero”, and the recorded acoustic version of the Twisted Sister’s classic “We’re Not Gonna Take It”, meant to help the fight against cancer.
The listener will hear a record that is a complete transformation of a force from the past into a contemporary rocker with something to tell, for those who want to listen and discover a album with a punchy production, that gives emphasis to the chorus, and ends with another rebellious song about those who don’t have afraid to be themselves in a society of people so equally empty called “So What”.
