Powerwolf – Blessed and Possessed Tour Edition

Powerwolf is a German power metal band  with dark vocals, a sounding powerful organ and dark choirs, complete with narratives about tales and legends from Romanian folklore.

Blessed and Possessed is the sixth album of the band, which was released in 2015 by Napalm Records. This is undoubtedly a very successful album, with fantastic songs, such as the  title-track of the album, “Army of the Nigth”, “Armata Strigoi” or “Higher Than Heaven”. To pay tribute to an epic and memorable album, this year they have decided to release “Blessed & Possessed Tour Edition”, that was recorded during the Summer Breeze festival in 2015, resulting in the double record we see here.

Record one begins with the epic onstage entrance of the band to the sound of “Agnus Dei”, followed by the classic “Sanctified with Dynamite” as well as several other  songs which all the fans know  and love from previous albuns. The second record is their last album “Blessed & Possessed” played in full.

This live piece has an excellent recording, filled with moments wheras you can perceive the band’s interaction with the public.  You will be able to listen and feel the power of this band performence, accompanied by the vibrant, fast and almost perfect way they play, this is powerful, completed by seasoned choral inserts and church motifs, while the audience clamours in the backgroun to their show.

In short, this record is a delightful temptation to listen to, while following the advice of Atilla Dorn and making «Silencio» (silence) for the “Kreuzfeuer”. Prepare to sharpen your thirst to serve the blood of one of the masses of the heavy metal wolves, while enjoying the delicious theatrical combination from Dorn’s voice to Maria Schlegel’s orchestral melodies combined with the powerful Greywolf rifles and Helden’s beating, because it isn’t any surprise why they are considered the next big hope for a genre that is losing in popularity!
