Doomed Fest returns on 7 February 2026 for its seventh edition, once again taking place at the Fora de Rebanho Cultural Association in Viseu, with doors opening at 8pm.
Organised by the association itself, the festival has established a clear identity within the underground circuit, focusing on the darker and heavier ends of the metal spectrum, from doom and death to sludge and experimental forms.
Over the years, Doomed Fest has positioned itself as a meeting point for national and international acts operating outside the mainstream, favouring atmosphere, weight and uncompromising sonic approaches. The 2026 edition continues this curatorial line, bringing together six bands whose work reflects different interpretations of contemporary extreme metal.
Among the confirmed acts are Lisbon-based Necrobode, formed in 2017, whose black/death metal draws on raw aesthetics and deliberately oppressive atmospheres. The band combines the brutality of death metal with the ritualistic dimension of black metal, prioritising intensity and sonic immersion over refinement.
Also on the bill are Monstru, a band from Santarém that has been steadily gaining attention within the Portuguese underground. Their sound merges the aggression of death metal with the slow, crushing weight of sludge, resulting in dense and emotionally charged compositions. Following the release of their debut demo Demum in 2024 and the EP Aos Que Não Acordaram in 2025, the band arrives in Viseu as part of a clearly defined early trajectory.
Another Portuguese presence comes in the form of Avesso, a project that emerged from an artistic residency in 2022 and brings together musicians from diverse musical backgrounds. Writing in Portuguese, the band explores heavy, dissonant structures alongside more introspective passages, rejecting fixed formulas in favour of an experimental approach. Their debut album, Desassossego, released in 2024, reflects this creative process.
From Spain, the festival welcomes Burnt To Death, a trio formed in Asturias in 2021. Their death metal approach is direct and aggressive, shaped by influences ranging from 1980s thrash to 1990s black metal. Releases such as the EP Doomed by Reality and the more recent Black Dragon have helped establish the band’s uncompromising identity.
Also representing Spain are Belzebitch, a duo operating within the stoner and doom metal sphere. Their music is defined by slow tempos, heavy grooves and a strong psychedelic component, creating dense and hypnotic soundscapes. The EP Serpent Moon, which includes the track “Satanic Vision”, contributed to their growing visibility within the European underground.
French act Blóð complete the line-up, bringing a sludge/doom metal approach that reinforces the overall cohesion of the bill while adding another stylistic dimension.
