The most underrated rock star ever, responsible for so many big acts back in the beginning of the 80’s with Hanoi Rocks and in the end of the 80’s with his solo career has returned with “Blackout States”, the new album following the same straight forward hard rock party sound from the previous releases on this new decade, “Sensory Overdrive” and “Horns and Halos”. Actually these 3 albums make quite a nice trilogy about what rock n’roll is all about. This new album is just perfect to invite all friends into a weekend escaping party from reality and let the good vibes flow. There’s fast songs like “This Ain’t No Love Song” and “R.L.F.”, celebrating songs like the single “Old King’s Road” and “Goin’ Down With the Ship”, kinda nostalgic and melodic moments like “Keep Your Eye On You” and “Under The Northern Lights”, and of course, the multi-instrumentalist Michael Monroe responsible for the composition, didn’t forgot his saxophone and you’ll hear it on “Good Old Bad Days” and “Permanent Youth”. The track “Blackout States” is quite a leading song about so many things wrong out there and some society’s conceptions from Michael’s point of view. The new members Rich Jones (guitarist) and Karl Rockfist (drummer) didn’t blur the quality of the band, it almost feels that they were there already for so long. Wave the flag of rock with Michael Monroe and enjoy life.
